The sandwich donations in support of the Denis Hurley Centre Homeless Feeding Program are ongoing and ranges from 2 000 – 2 600 packets of sandwiches monthly. On average members of the three Churches, Musgrave Methodist Church, St Thomas and Holy Trinity donate 500 +/- packets of sandwiches weekly. Hamba Nami is greatly to Marie Sturgess for coordinating this outreach.
During 2022, the floods that occurred in Durban created an urgency to feed more of the homeless and poverty-stricken people of the community. The Sandwich Ministry delivered diligently every week save for the week of the flooding.
We commend the Sandwich Ministry for their hard work and diligence to ensure that the sandwiches are dutifully made, collected and delivered to the Denis Hurley Centre every Tuesday.
